Type of course | Lecture + Exercise |
Level | Main Study Program / Master |
Semester | Summer Semester |
Aim of the course
"Finite Elements in Forming Technology" begins with a basic insight into the theory of the finite element method. Followed by an explanation of the structure and functionality of FEM program systems. Building on this, special knowledge of relevant material models and process parameters in the context of numerical modelling of forming processes is imparted. The course concludes with an exemplary presentation of possible applications of FEM to key forming processes such as bulk metal forming, sheet metal forming and powder metallurgical manufacturing processes.
Lecture contents
- Introduction to FEM
