PhD colloquium

Type of course Colloquium
Level Master
Semester Summerand Winter  Semester

A central component of the doctorate is the writing of the dissertation. Writing the dissertation, which is largely based on the results of the research work, requires a wide range of knowledge in the areas of writing, self-organisation and scientific work. In addition, knowledge of relevant publications is required in order to be able to categorise one's own dissertation in an academic context. This demonstrates independent academic work. Due to these different requirements, the colloquium offers support for the doctorate. As part of the colloquium, your own doctoral topic is presented in a lecture and then discussed. In addition to the professional exchange, the colloquium offers the opportunity to discuss and further develop your own challenges and the content of your dissertation. Furthermore, the progress of the dissertation is reflected upon in the colloquium, from which measures for the successful completion of the dissertation are derived. The colloquium also promotes exchange between doctoral students. The colloquium is supported by the experiences of employees who have already completed their doctorates and former colleagues.
