ERICHSEN universal sheet testing machine

The universal sheet metal testing machine from ERICHSEN GmbH & Co. KG is used to test sheet metal materials. It can be used, among other things, to record forming limit curves according to DIN EN ISO 12004 for strain-based damage prediction. The ARAMIS measuring system from GOM GmbH is used for optical strain measurement. In addition to the standardised Nakajima and Marciniak tests, other tests such as the Erichsen test, earing test or hole expansion can be carried out.

Optical strain measurement with the ARAMIS surveying system from the company GOM GmbH

Feasible experiments and experimental parameters:

  • Forming Limit Curve (FLC) according to Nakajima/Marciniak in accordance with DIN EN 12004
  • Erichsen cupping according to DIN EN ISO 20482
  • Earing test according to DIN EN 1669 and ISO 11531
  • Determination of the drawing limit ratio
  • Hole expansion
