Abstract

In this article, different simulation-based approaches are introduced with the aim to achieve a sustainable ecological design of forging process chains. The approaches focus on the one hand on an ecological optimization of the forging process by reducing the friction and by improving the material flow. On the other hand, an approach is presented, which considers the interdependences between the single process steps and enables a holistic, multicriteria evaluation and design (time, costs and ecology) of the process chain.
