- Abstract
In comparison to conventional steels, binary iron-aluminium alloys exhibit high corrosion resistance and good low-density strength properties. However, the FeAl alloys are excluded from potential applications due to their enormous embrittlement with increasing aluminium content. Specifically, ultra-fine-grained microstructures are to be produced which increase the strength and additionally contribute to improving the ductility of metallic materials.
