Abstract

The design of a multi-stage forging process plays a key role with respect to product quality as well as forming load. In this article, a design integrated method is presented to achieve an approximated preform at low computational cost in order to reduce the required number of FE-based simulations. The main procedure implies the geometrical analysis of the final forging stage and, based on this, the backward simulation.
